The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen, Book Review

A long, hot summer… that’s what Macy has to look forward to while her boyfriend, Jason, is away at Brain Camp. Days will be spent at a job in the library, evenings will be filled with vocabulary drills for the SATs, and spare time will be passed with her mother, the two of them sharing silent grief at the traumatic loss of Macy's father. But sometimes unexpected things can happen--things such as the catering job at Wish, with its fun-loving, chaotic crew. Or her sister's project of renovating the neglected beach house, awakening long-buried memories. Things such as meeting Wes, a boy with a past, a taste for truth-telling, and an amazing artistic talent, the kind of boy who can turn any girl’s world upside down. As Macy ventures out of her shell, she begins to wonder, is it really better to be safe than sorry?
I had a fun time reading this book. It was hilarious and at the same time, stated several things that one could ever dream to write or express. It truly made me smile and seriously crave a guy like Wes for a long time.=P.The character's were portrayed nicely and the storyline was nice and simple so it wasn't destroyed at any point. Makes you wish If only life could be as easy as a book...
For people who like romance and comedy.

A Kiss in Time by Alex Flinn, Book Review

A Kiss In Time is a retelling of Sleeping Beauty. In this story, when the princess of Euphrasia pricks her finger on a spindle and the entire country falls asleep, it also disappears off the map. No one knows it’s there, until a couple of idiot teenage boys (escapees from an educational trip) hack through the thickets and find it. One of them, Jack, decides to kiss Talia when he finds her asleep on the floor. Which I personally find really creepy (Edward Cullen level creepy) even if it’s supposed to be fairy tale love or something. Remember, Edward watches Bella sleep because they’re meant to be; destiny (real or imagined) does not make this any less creepy.
Anyway. Talia wakes up, and so does everyone else in Euphrasia. They discover they’ve been asleep for three centuries, and the modern world is not what they’re used to. Jack and Talia tell the story, alternating chapters, as this Sleeping Beauty leaves the only place and time she’s ever known, still looking over her shoulder for the witch who cursed her centuries ago.
This is a fun twist on fairy-tale retelling, and I do love fairy tales. I like the idea, but the story itself isn’t really fast-paced, and it took me awhile to get through; it does not beg to be read. Despite the fact that it’s easy to put down, though, it’s also easy to pick back up, and overall an enjoyable reading experience.

Heist Society (Heist Society #1) by Ally Carter

Tired of her lifelong involvement in her family's illicit dealings, teenager Katarina Bishop enrolls herself in a prestigious boarding school. Then after a mere three months there, 16-year-old billionaire Hale arranges for her to get kicked out. He informs her that five paintings have been stolen from the menacing Arturo Taccone and that her father is the prime suspect. Determined to save him by locating the real thief and stealing the paintings back, Kat gathers a crack team of larcenous teens for the heist to be pulled off before the two-week deadline. However, her resolve falters when she learns that the paintings are Nazi war spoils.
She negotiates complicated relationships in an action-packed plot, and the unknown identity of the thief suggests a sequel and that sequel being 'Uncommon Criminals'. It also has a bit of romance in it for those who like to read books with romance in it.
A must read! Amazingly fun and absolutely awesome!

Matched (Matched #1) by Ally Condie, Book Review

Matched is a young adult novel written by Ally Condie that takes place in a dystopian future.

The story begins with protagonist Cassia Reyes getting ready for her Match Ceremony, held by the Society, which uses algorithms to determine the perfect mate for its citizens when they turn 17. At the banquet Cassia is matched with her best friend, Xander Carrow.
Cassia, like all other matched individuals, is given a microchip which is supposed to have information on their match. When Cassia uses her microchip, both Xander and her friend Ky Markham come up on the screen. A Society Official visits Cassia and tells her that it was a mistake since Ky is an Aberration, and Aberrations cannot be matched.
Cassia visits with her Grandfather, who is about to turn 80, the age at which all citizens of the Society die. He gives her a poem, which has been forbidden by the Society. This encounter begins Cassia's suspicion about the way the Society works.
A series of encounters with both Xander and Ky make Cassia wonder who she was really meant to be with. Ky and Cassia grow closer during hiking trips, when he starts to teach her forbidden activities such as writing. Eventually he tells her his story: Ky lived in an Outer Province before his family was murdered by the Society. An Official took Ky away to live with his aunt and uncle since their own child was killed in an accident. Throughout this time, Cassia becomes increasingly suspicious about Xander's actions and knowledge of the Society, especially when he helps her hide a forbidden object of Ky's from the Society Officials.
Cassia also continues her training as a sorter, a job at which she is exceptionally good at. Her final test is sorting workers at a food factory, including Ky, by their efficiency. During the training, Cassia learns that the Society poisons the elderly, and that the factory workers have a shorter lifespan. She changes her sort to increase Ky's efficiency so he can get a new job.
During a hiking session, Ky and Cassia admit their feelings for each other and kiss. However, their romance comes to a halt when Ky's job reassignment moves him to another province. Ky is taken away in the middle of the night, and his adopted parents reveal to the neighborhood that he is being taken away to the Outer Provinces to fight the Society's war with the "Enemy" and will likely be killed. Society officials have everyone take a pill to erase their memory of the incident, however Cassia is able to avoid taking it, and it is revealed Xander is immune to the pill's effects.
The next morning Cassia's family finds out they will be relocated to the Farmlands. The Society Official who told her about the microchip mistake tells Cassia it was all an experiment to see her reaction, but Cassia is able to realize the Official is lying and doesn't actually know how Ky's face ended up on the microchip. Cassia decides that she will try to escape to the Outer Provinces and find Ky. Her parents help her with her plan, and Xander gives her supplies, despite him being in love with her and knowing she is falling in love with Ky. The novel ends with Cassia farming and waiting for knowledge of Ky's whereabouts.
The novel has two sequels,'Crossed; and 'Reached'. A truly beautiful book. Must read!

Die For Me (Revenants #1) by Amy Plum, Book Review

In the City of Lights, two star-crossed lovers battle a fate that is destined to tear them apart again and again for eternity.
When Kate Mercier's parents die in a tragic car accident, she leaves her life--and memories--behind to live with her grandparents in Paris. For Kate, the only way to survive her pain is escaping into the world of books and Parisian art. Until she meets Vincent.
Mysterious, charming, and devastatingly handsome, Vincent threatens to melt the ice around Kate's guarded heart with just his smile. As she begins to fall in love with Vincent, Kate discovers that he's a revenant--an undead being whose fate forces him to sacrifice himself over and over again to save the lives of others. Vincent and those like him are bound in a centuries-old war against a group of evil revenants who exist only to murder and betray. Kate soon realizes that if she follows her heart, she may never be safe again.
Die for Me by Amy Plum is about lovers who are trying all in their power to stay together. They will face several enemies and other various problems before they succeed in their goal.
It's a beautiful book filled with romance, humor, suspense and mystery. The story starts in a mood of despair, Kate's parent's are killed in an accident back in America. So she and her sister,Georgia, move to the beautiful City of Paris to live with their grandparents and to escape bring lost in grief of their parents untimely death. While in a cafe reading her book, Kate notices an olive-skinned 19 year-old guy looking at her from across the street and amazingly he seems very familiar to her even though she had never seen him before. The feeling being mutual, they continue to gaze at each other until the olive skinned guy(Vincent) starts to leave with his two friends(Jules and Ambrose). Later in the novel Kate and Vincent fall in love and try to battle the odds to stay together. Their story continues in its two sequels 'Until I Die' and 'If I Should Die'.
The characters are portrayed nicely, emotions were pouring out of every word. And of course, Vincent was simply to die for! I found their minor jokes also amazingly entertaining.Amy Plum has done justice to her characters and made them more realistic than any book I've read so far. This review might not be doing the book justice so instead of reading me compliment the book on and on, read the book yourself and decide whether you want to accompany Kate and Vincent in their journey or not but one thing's for sure I'm definitely not going to stop reading till the very end! I highly recommend so do try!
